The Chair Project – Holder Family

There are no tricks or fancy Photoshop work here, just a camera on a tripod, an old chair and some willing subjects. I love the flow and variety of faces that took time out to sit on ‘The Chair’ for this session, in fact, they are all very special to me because this lot is my Family and I love each and every one of them. They are a rowdy bunch of everyday Aussies that love and support each other simply because they are family. It is the blood that flows through our veins that binds us together and keeps us coming back year after year for our family get togethers at Christmas.

Organically over the last 70 years the family has grown from 8 siblings to over 100 and somehow we have managed to stay together; and mostly remember all the names. Family grounds you, in many ways it defines your position in the grand scheme of things. We know we belong to something bigger than ourselves, a living breathing mixed up bunch of individuals that somehow make a whole.

My only disappointment is that a few faces are missing from this collection but know that we are thinking of you just the same.
